Dodson, Parker & Behm, P.C. is pleased to welcome a new associate, Amy J. Farrar.  Amy comes to Dodson, Parker & Behm, P.C. from the Tennessee Supreme Court, where she worked as a law clerk with the Honorable Cornelia A. Clark.  Amy is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law, 2005, and Wake Forest University in 2002.



On October 17, 2005, Margaret L. Behm was awarded the “E” Award for Extraordinary Contribution in Public Service by the Tennessee Economic Council on Women. 

Margaret L. Behm was a panel member who spoke at a seminar given by the Tennessee Bar Association on April 21, 2006, titled “Bankruptcy and Family Law: Working with the New Bankruptcy Act.”

Margaret L. Behm was quoted in the May 2006 issue of the Nashville Bar Journal in an article titled “Practicing Law – The Women’s Prospective” regarding the expanded role of women in the profession.

Margaret L. Behm has been named by Mayor Bill Purcell as co-chair of Celebrate Nashville, a year long celebration of Nashville’s 200th birthday.

Margaret L. Behm was named by the Nashville Business Journal as “Best of the Bar” for 2006.

Margaret L. Behm is listed in the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, Labor and Employment Law.  Behm has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 2001.



Cynthia Chappell spoke at a seminar entitled Building a Foundation for a Successful Criminal Trial on March 31, 2006. Her topic of discussion was Arrest, Interview and Initial Case Assessment.



Cynthia Chappell, along with Kristen Amonette and Margaret L. Behm, wrote an article, "The Effect of the 2005 Bankruptcy Reform Legislation on Family Law Matters," which was published in the December 2005/January 2006 issue of the Nashville Bar Journal.

Harlan Dodson III spoke at a Continuing Legal Education seminar on October 27, 2005 sponsored by the National Business Institute entitled "The Tennessee Revised Limited Liability Company Act: Bringing Your Practice Up to Speed."

Margaret L. Behm spoke at the Opening Retreat of Leadership Nashville on the topic "Power in Nashville" on October 1, 2005.



Kristen B. Amonette was a feature member in the August 2005 L.A.W. (Lawyers Association for Women) newsletter.


Travenia A. Holden was a presenter at a conference of the National Association of Boards of Examiners for Long- Term Healthcare on the topic of “Recent Changes in the Law that Affect Elders” on September 13, 2005.

Margaret L. Behm received the Cumberland Valley Girl Scout Council Honor Pin Award in April 2005. The award was presented to her in recognition of her outstanding and long-term dedication to the Girl Scout Council.  The pin recognizes an adult who has delivered outstanding service above and beyond the call of duty, with contributions to the Council’s goals and objectives in two or more service areas.



Margaret L. Behm was appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Metropolitan Council to the five-member Study and Formulating Committee on April 5, 2005. The Study and Formulating Committee, which is established by the Metro Charter, studies benefits, contributions, extent of coverage, actuarial soundness and related matters in connection with Metro benefit plans.



Paul S. Parker is a presenter in two on demand programs sponsored by the National Business Institute. The programs are entitled "Select Issues in Tennessee Estate Administration" and "Estate Administration in Tennessee: From Closing the Estate to Litigation and Probate."



Margaret L. Behm spoke to the Lawyers’ Association for Women (LAW) luncheon on May 17, 2005, on the topic "Enhancing the Quality of the Justice System Through Merit Selection of Judges". She spoke on the same topic on March 31, 2005, to the Tennessee Bar Association’s Tennessee Leadership class.



Donald Capparella was featured in the Nashville Business Journal's, "Best of the Bar" for 2005. The special publication names Nashville lawyers selected by their peers as the "best" lawyer for a particular practice area. Capparella was recognized for his appellate work.



Harlan Dodson III spoke at a Continuing Legal Education seminar on April 22, 2005 sponsored by the National Business Institute entitled "Drafting LLC and LLP Agreements in Tennessee." Dodson spoke on The Proposed Tennessee Revised Limited Liability Company Act.

Cynthia C. Chappell was mentioned in the March 31, 2005, "Brad About You" column in The Tennessean for her representation of Atlantic Records recording artist, Kid Rock.  Click here to read the article.

Cynthia C. Chappell has been appointed by the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers to be their representative on the Tennessee Bar Foundation IOLTA grant program.  Chappell will be one of a committee that decides which organizations receive grant funding from money generated by the attorney IOLTA accounts in Tennessee.
