Harlan Dodson III published the 2004 Edition of Introduction to Estate Planning and Administration in Tennessee. He also authored an article on the new Uniform Trust Code as adopted in Tennessee for the Nashville Bar Journal.
Donald Capparella co-authored the 2004 Supplement to the Tennessee Law of Comparative Fault, Second Edition, a TPI West publication he also co-authored. Donald co-authored the Tennessee Tort Law Letter with John Day for tenth consecutive year in 2004. In addition, Donald published two articles in the TTLA Journal in 2004 entitled "Supreme Court Reverses Direction on Comparative Fault in Medical Malpractice Cases," and "The Death of Prejudgment Interest in Personal Injury Cases", and authored two online courses for the Tennessee Bar Association, entitled Preserving Issues for Appeal in the Trial Court and Principles of Appellate Practice. Donald also co-edited and co-authored the 2004 update to the Appellate Practice Handbook, published by the Nashville Bar Association.

William T. Cheek, III was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Center for Nonprofit Management for 2005-2006, and was reelected as Board Chair of Belcourt YES!, Inc. He was selected to serve as event Chair of Salute to Excellence, the annual awards program celebrating the work of nonprofit organizations and recognizing management excellence.
Donald Capparella was reelected as Board Chair of the Nashville Shakespeare Festival, and was selected to the Board of Ronald McDonald House.
Paul S. Parker spoke at the March 2004 Nashville Bar Association, Spring Probate Seminar on "Ethics in Probate Under the New Ethics Rules." Paul also spoke on many areas of probate in Tennessee at the August 5, 2004 seminar "Basic Probate in Tennessee," and at the September 13, 2004 seminar "How to Draft Wills and Trusts in Tennessee." Additional speeches by Paul include the November 18, 2004 seminar "Eight Great Estate Planning Techniques in Tennessee," and on December 9, 2004 on "Choice of Business Entity in Tennessee."
Donald Capparella spoke on four seminars for the TTLA in Knoxville, Nashville, Jackson, and Chattanooga on the complexities of comparative fault. He also spoke on ethics in a seminar presented by the Nashville Bar Association.
Harlan Dodson III was reappointed as a Faculty member at the Nashville School of Law and has taught his course in Estate Planning and Administration in Tennessee for the 29th year.
Donald Capparella was co-counsel in an important employment discrimination case in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit,
Jenkins v. Nash. P. Rad., 2004 U.S.App. LEXIS 18973 (6th Cir. 2004). He also was successful on appeal as lead counsel in a significant Court of Criminal Appeals decision in
State v. Magness, 2004 Tenn. Crim. App. LEXIS 836 (2004)
Margaret L. Behm was reappointed to the Metro Health Board by Mayor Bill Purcell and the Metropolitan Council. She was also elected Chair of the Finance Audit Committee of the Nashville Housing Fund.
Donald Capparella is teaching two new online courses through the Tennessee Bar Association. His first interactive course addresses the steps you must take in the trial court to preserve issues for a possible appeal. His course presents the basic principles of appellate practice in Tennessee. Both are taught with scenarios followed by questions and answers that raise issues and illustrate potential problems.
Margaret L. Behm was a panel member who spoke on December 14, 2004 at the "Reflections on Brown v. Board of Education and Related Ethical Issues."

Michael B. Bressman has been appointed an Adjunct Professor of Law at Vanderbilt Law School and will teach "The Law of Cyberspace" in Spring 2005.
Cynthia C. Chappell taught a seminar entitled "How to Build Your General Sessions Practice" on November 19, 2004.
Michael B. Bressman recently published two articles in the
Nashville Bar Journal. In the July 2004 issue, he authored "Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure." He also wrote the cover-feature article in the August 2004 issue entitiled, "Electronic Discovery: What You Don't Know May Hurt You."
Margaret L. Behm spoke on the "Top Reasons Why Employess Contact a Lawyer" on November 18, 2004, to human resource managers in a seminar sponsered by The HR Group.
Donald Capparella received The Kraft CPAs Board Member of the Year Award recognizing his work with The Nashville Shakespeare Festival. The award was presented by The Center for Nonprofit Management at its 2004 Salute to Excellence award presentation on October 27th.

William T. Cheek, III was featured in the
Nashville Business Journal's, "Best of the Bar" on August 6, 2004. The special publication names Nashville lawyers selected by their peers as the "best" lawyer for a particular practice area. Cheek was recognized for his corporate/securities work which includes liquor and beer licensing throughout the state of Tennessee.
Harlan Dodson III chaired a panel at the monthly Lawyers Association for Women luncheon on August 18, 2004 at the Nashville City Club. The topic of discussion was "
You be the Judge" which provided information and guidance to lawyers who may consider running for a judgeship in the future. Also speaking at the luncheon was Judge Mark Fishburn, Judge Marietta Shipley and Judge Andrei Lee.
Margaret L. Behm was a featured speaker at the seminar, "Taking Care of Business Clients", sponsored by the Tennessee Lawyers' Association for Women and the Tennessee Bar Association on June 18, 2004.

William T. Cheek, III has been appointed by Mayor Bill Purcell as a Commissioner to the Metro Arts Commission for a four year term beginning in 2004. The Metro Arts Commission mission is to enrich the cultural life of Nashville through its leadership, support and advocacy of the arts. As part of its duties, the commission administered over two million dollars in grants to arts projects throughout Nashville in 2003.
Margaret L. Behm was a panel member who spoke on the Tennessee judiciary, "The Road to the Courthouse" on March 4, 2004, to the Tennessee Bar Association's Leadership Law Program.
Margaret L. Behm was quoted in the February 29, 2004 issue of The Tennessean. Behm was quoted in an article which focuses on the importance of women voters.
Travenia A. Holden has joined Dodson, Parker & Behm, PC. Holden practices in the areas of employment, contract and business law. The announcement of Holden joining the firm was released in the February 28, 2004 issue of The Tennessean.
Margaret L. Behm was quoted in the February 27, 2004 issue of The Tennessean. Behm, a member of the Metro Board of Health, was quoted in an article which focuses on the sale of tobacco products to teenagers.
